…an impressive sunset in Chianti!

After a day in Florence, Siena, San Gimignano or wondering around on Tuscany hills visiting castles, old farm producing wine or cute villages as Montefioralle, Greve in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti, Radda and Castellina, this is the view you deserve to admire at the end of your intense day.

Your efforts in exploring the region will be rewarded when back at the B&B as the miracle of sunset at Ancora del Chianti can be a memorable gift from nature.

We believe in the importance of beauty and silence for body and soul regenerating. This is why we have prepared for our guests and friends a relaxing area with deck chairs, sun beds and hammocks just in front of the setting above.

The end of the day is a magical moment. When colours change their intensity becoming more vibrant: the flowers in the garden result brighter compiting with the variegating sky and trees turn golden.

A gentle and fresh breeze usually arise and this is the right moment for getting lost in …..calm and peace!

Lars and Margaretha

Lars and Margaretha arrived at Ancora del Chianti  on a Sunday afternoon. I was alone at the house and I did not expect any guests arriving that day. As no kids where around, I started reading in peace and quite a book by a new Swedish author: “The centenarial who climbed out of the window and disappeared” by Jonas Johansson . It is about a 99 y.o. man escaping from a nursing home a few minute before the celebration of his 100th birthday and …. can’t say more otherwise no suspence in reading it!!

Anyway, it takes place in Sweden and all the situations, lanscapes and descriptions are very Scandinavian…and in the middle of one of the first chapters….a SWEDISH couple arrived by the road asking for a place to stay…

What a coincidence!! Was it real or fiction as part of the book?

Furthermore I was surprised because they called me by name and they knew a lot of things about us. I was puzzled: they have no reservation and they where not here before…how can they know all these things about? After a quick enquiry I got an easy answer: our place was recommended by a friend!! Everything was clear then…

They really enjoyed the view at Ancora del Chianti as you can see from the pictures they sent us and Chianti wine. Then once back home they sent us this nice message.

Hello and regards from Sweden still in spring.

We didn’t had many photos from your wonderful place but we send you two from our first morning. We really enjoyed staying at your charming wineyard. It was hard to leave such a relaxing place, but we managed and had a nice stay in Cecina at the sea.
Hope to se you soon, why not this autum during harvest!
Regards Margaretha and Lars”

A perfect spring day in Chianti

What to do on a perfect day in Chianti?

Just enjoy the view and do nothing:
it will be your most enriching experience of your life.

During our day by day life we tend to overdo and have everything schedules: so much scheduled that also our spare time usually have a strict programme to be followed. Sometimes also on holiday we have everything organized in every single detail.

We absolutely discourage all that at Ancora del Chianti  and …. the landscape help us a lot.

Of course you can go visiting important and artistic town as Siena, Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Don’t miss San Gimignano, Volterra and Cortona. Enjoy wine tasting in Castle, villas and farms. Go shopping to trendy boutique and spend time in artists’ atelier….but consider also the opportunity of just lying on an hammock, lullabyed by bird singing, enjoying the view.

You soul and your body will be grateful!

Wildlife in Chianti

Wild Life at Ancora del Chianti

Here what you can find on the road to Ancora del Chianti: no trafic, no trafic lights, no zebras….but pheasants!! Not very adventurous but fun. It was a beautiful and proud male pheasant with its long tail. They cannot fly very well and they prefer to walk in high hay. They nest in the hey or in bushes and once we also met the mother with the little kids but I had no camera.
