Last May we had the pleasure of welcoming Chiara Giacobelli at Ancora del Chianti, young writer and journalist from Ancona. She was curious to see by real what she read about our personal story and our enviromental commitment and she stopped for a visit during her recent trip in Tuscany while passing through the Chianti area.
Garden at Ancora del Chianti
We spent a lovely morning together talking about our experiences and work in progress on the terrace overlooking the roses in the garden with a gentle breeze and swallows singing, like old friends. We discoveded that we are both pragmatic dreamers. In the end, she interviewed me for an article on her website on tourism section.
“Beautiful and Relaxing Chianti” My husband and I recently stayed two nights during our road trip through Italy. Prior to our arrival, Laura was very proactive in making sure we had directions to the property and offered a selection of amenities to be placed in the room prior to our arrival. We opted for a bottle of the wine made on property and it was absolutely delicious! The property is nestled quite high up showcasing the beautiful Chianti rolling hills. It’s also only 25 minutes walk to Verrazzano Castle where you can do an amazing castle tour, lunch and wine tasting. The breakfast was wonderful and Laura was simply full of energy and made us feel like we were at home. Take her suggestions with local restaurants too- she knows what she’s talking about!

“Serenity in a beautiful little location”
We stayed here in July 2010 but better late than never in writing a well deserved review for this lovely relaxing place. We stayed here for 3 nights and upon arrival we found our room with a personalized note by the door, which just added that extra touch of feeling welcome. This was consistent throughout our stay. The hosts were very friendly and Laura was very forthcoming and chatted with all the guests and gave her tips about which places to visit in the area. I must say that the recommendations payed off as we found the cutest little wineries, restaurants and visited towns that are off the beaten track. Ancora del Chianti was indeed a little paradise, as another review suggested, and for us it meant relaxation in hammocks, beautiful green surroundings, delicious breakfast, lovely local wine that you could purchase as well as cakes…it was ideal and I would definitely stay there again. It was lovely to just sink into a hammock with a good book and hide in the shade during the hottest part of the day and then travel onwards to cute little towns in the nearby vicinity. Thank you for a great experience.
On 13rd of May we received a Trip Advisor Review Alert from a mysterious dk12345678 from Budapest – Hungary who stayed at Ancora del Chianti beginning of the month. We actually have an idea who it was …but we want to keep the secret and we thank a lot!!
From Tripadvisor.Com : “Real tuscan country feeling, nice surroundings, freedom to do what you feel like” We have stayed in may 2012 in this former fattoria, with very nice surroundings and quiet countryside. Close to major tuscan sites to visit, and free to do what yo felt like, without very suggested ways of spending time. Nice house, very nicely renovated. it is a great house to spend quality time at. There is no swimming pool, so those looking for that … this is not your choice. But for wondering around Tuscany is great:) and a great host:)
First guests at Ancora del Chianti, first reviews on Trip Advisor about us.
“After Easter break at this B & B in the heart of the Chianti hills. What to say .. after visiting the Alto Adige in the far and wide we decided to attack the Tuscan and the attack was wonderful. Simply magnificent place that has an inexplicable calm. Starting from the rooms, furnished with taste and simple (do not expect a relais … if you want to go to a relais go in a relais), but rather extensive and have a lot .. especially clean. Laura is fantastic host … instills peace of mind as the place where he lives … the breakfast is simple but hearty …. fancy home baked cakes.. ham … coffee … They’re not missing anything and if you can also make sandwiches for lunch (at the invitation of Laura herself) .. but after breakfast till evening no hunger. Valuable suggestions for dinner .. we have been recommended restaurants with great and excellent value for money. We stayed with our two children who enjoyed like crazy. Unlike other B this is the way it ends … there is no danger of passing cars or traffic (we have seen other B&B that seemed far in the photos). What can I say … we hope to be able to reach other breaks soon …. say that without detracting from the Chianti seems to be a typical French chambre d’hotes much has been given to detail and a welcoming … full marks !!”
Thank you Paolo, hope to see you again soon!!
