CHRISTMAS CARDS to Ancora del Chianti

 Thank you all for the beautiful Christmas Cards you sent us!!

 Starting in mid-December, the post man of Ancora del Chianti has a heavier bag to carry and more mail to deliver. This year due to strikes in UK and France the extra job continued untill Mid February when his yellow Panda Fiat could finally have a bit of rest. Usually he arrives at 13,30 and it could be 1 card, 2 cards and even 4 cards a day!

His arrival is such a joy for us! I can see immediately from the envelope who is writing: country, city, name and of course…..the stamp. This is important because we have several stamp collectors in the family, both kids and adults. When it happens that the same stamp appears on different envelopes, it is a real blessing: everybody is happy because everyone gets a copy.

This year we had lovely cards from Italy, France, England, United States, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, Holland, and Austria and more. We got fund-raising cards with humanitarian purposes, hand made collages and beautiful watercolours (….someone knows my passion!!). We had also a wonderful calendar from the author and a lovely video in dvd!
