"Paradise - Staying at Ancora del Chianti was a great experience. We were warmly welcomed by Laura and Filippo and immediately felt at home. The whole estate is absolutely beautiful: flowers everywhere, lovely spots to sit down and enjoy the sun, it´s quiet and peaceful - just the right place to relax after an exciting sightseeing day.I had a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed (wonderful sleep every night), tea-making facilities, a well equipped bathroom with a big and hot shower and great views out of the window door. We enjoyed preparing our food in the kitchen which can be used by the guests. It´s a great place to talk to other guests.Breakfast was good: fresh, self-made cake every morning, cheese, fruit, cereals - the right things to start the day. We were also offered to take food for lunch packets from the breakfast table and to take biscuits to our rooms to enjoy them later. This is definitely not the right place to start a diet! ;-) But the best was Laura. She gave us a lot of helpful hints and ideas (buy a "burrata": a wonderful cheese I´m still dreaming of.....!). She also had a fantastic idea for a lunch in Florence - wonderful. Each room is equipped with a very helpful and detailed folder which Laura explained to us when we arrived. It contains lots of great information about activities in and around Ancora del Chianti. Even great self made maps with recommended restaurants, wineries etc. are included. That folder became our "bible" during our stay! Laura is a great host, cares for all the guests, always helpful and with her the stay is even more wonderful. The gravel road to the house is a little surprise when you arrive - some parts are quite steep and there are lots of holes which makes the ride a little bumpy. If you drive slowly there should be no problem. Ancora del Chianti is the perfect place to feel a bit of the "Tuscany Spirit" - a little paradise away from the crowded tourist attractions, but close enough to reach all the interesting sights of the Tuscany.Thank you very much, Laura and Filippo. I hope to return one day."

"Chianti Hilltop Gem - We stayed at Ancora del Chianti last October for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Having read the trip advisor reviews, we were looking forward to our visit and we were not disappointed. This restored property amongst the hills in Chianti is lovely. We took walks among the olive groves, watched magical sunsets, sipped wine most evenings and shared stories with guests from all over the world each morning at breakfast. We used the communal kitchen while there, having purchased apertif and dinner foods at a local village market and preparing them in the kitchen and eating al fresco while watching the sunset. What a nice way to spend the evening, after a day of touring the region. The breakfasts were plentiful, with homemade morning breakfast cakes being the highlight. Laura goes out of her way to make each guest feel special. She is quick to offer suggestions for day trips. This location was a good base and we used it to explore the Chianti region as well as spending a day in Sienna. We flew out of Florence and stayed at the B&B until the day we left. We found our trip to the Florence airport from the B&B to be about 45 minutes away.Just a quick note. When driving on the S222 approaching Greve in Chianti, keep your eyes open for the sign to the B&B. Our GPS did not acknowledge the location and we ended up on a back road to the B&B. However, once we arrived at the B&B, we marked our location and were good to go with our GPS each day.Now that we have found our way to your lovely b&b, we hope to be back again soon!"

"Peaceful and Welcoming - My husband Graham and I really enjoyed our few days with Laura at Anchora del Chianti. She introduced us to everyone at breakfast and it was wonderful to sit on the patio and enjoy a delicious breakfast whilst sharing travel experiences with people from all over the world. Ingrid bakes a different delicious cake every morning and we enjoyed these with really good coffee. Laura went out of her way to ensure that we found our way into Florence and advised us about what to do in the area. Comfortable accommodation makes this a good place to be."

""Peaceful, Inviting, Real Tuscany"Laura is the star here at this lovely agriturismo. She is sharp and cheerful and most informative. We stayed 5 nights with my sister and her hubby and we all loved this place. We had the two (large) rooms on the corner and were able to park right next to our rooms! A nice plus after a busy, tiring day of touristing. It is up a dusty road, but that's great..you are away from the hubub. We went into (Greve) town and took the VERY convenient (frequent) bus to Florence. Brilliant! Pkg is free and very reasonable. Takes you to the center of town. Laura will tell you how. Beautiful grounds, can't say enough about the view of the Tuscan Hills. We had the (separate) kitchen at our disposal, so long as no one else was using it. Everything you need is there. There is home bottled wine, but we liked other wine better. Matter of taste. Laura booked the wine tour for us. Breakfast was excellent with a homemade cake every morning. Ingrid took care of our brkfst service and tidies up our rooms each day. She is a sweetheart, and works hard. Remember her before you leave by showing your appreciation. Rooms were large, comfy yet firm beds. Shower/bathroom is very nice. The only (maybe) drawback was the wifi, you could only get it (and not all the time) out on the patio. No wifi in our rooms. But, hopefully, like us, you only need it to check your email once a day. So this could be a non-issue if you do not care--you are in Tuscany for rest and relaxation, after all! We just had to check with our sick family member back home every day/night. The love and appreciation for this community and terroir is palpable. It draws you in like a warm embrace. You will leave wanting more. We will be back if in the area again. Thank you for a most memorable stay."

"Wait till you meet Laura and her staff, they could not have been any more helpful. Breakfast was self serve with cereals, fruit, cold meats and cheese along with freshly baked cakes done daily. This is an ideal location to stay while visiting Florence and Tuscany. The location allows for fast access to the major highway ( although a dirt road ) to Greve where we took the public bus ( recommended ) to the city center ( Florence ) daily. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and cleaned daily. Their are several excellent restaurants near by and the drive to Sienna very picturesque. We would not hesitate returning."
