"A Piece of Heaven in Tuscany! -Ancora del Chianti is a great place to spend some days in Tuscany. It is spacious, calm, colourful and sunny! The rooms are sizable, clean and cosy. To sum up, it's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the multiple pleasures of the region. Last but not least, Laura, Filippo and Alessandra will make sure you're not lacking of anything and will make you feel like a part of the family."

"Ancora del Chianti is "La Dolce Vita!" - Initially booked for couple of days, we ended up staying more...we just could not leave!..So beautiful, so much to see...Laura and her family are the most loving, passionate and welcoming people we have met!..How can they be otherwise, when surrounded by the famous Chianti Hills, with olive trees and vineyard everywhere? Ancora del Chianti, strategically located on the top of the hill, offers warm, elegant, stylish and clean rooms, offering locally produced organic toiletries. Every room has a "touch" of Laura's love for art. A tasty breakfast is included in the price with freshly baked cakes, daily, in the house. We were fortunate to have the breakfast served every morning, by Alessandra, our own "Susan Sarandon"...resemblance is astonishing! After driving on a Tuscan typical white dirt road, to get to the destination, all is worth it, when watching the magical sunsets, ....more beautiful every day! We suggest you, take a trip to Ancora del Chianti: breath deep and take in, all that is offered to you ....and live! We guaranty, you wish you were born there! Thank you Laura and family for sharing this magical place with us!.Arrivederci!..e a Presto! Giorgio and Lucia"

"Deserves 6 Bottles - We stayed at Ancora del Chianti for a week of painting. Altogether it was excellent: the welcome from Laura was warm and genuine; the rooms are tastefully decorated by the hostess herself and immaculately clean. The 270 degree views from the site are stunning and, for those inclined, give lots of scope to sit in the sun and attempt to reproduce them on canvas without moving more than a few yards from the door. (But for this, do remember to take some mosquito repellent!). There is a shared kitchen to make lunch or dinner and to thence to sit on the terrace and accompany it with wine made by husband Filippo from the vineyard. Thoroughly recommended."

"A Warm Italian Welcome - I was travelling as part of a group of artists and Laura and her staff could not have made us more welcome. The rooms were clean and well appointed, they even had a kettle for a morning cuppa in bed! The water from the taps is drinkable as it comes from their own spring. The views from the property, which was nestled at the top of a hill in its own olive groves and vineyards, were amazing and provided lots of inspiration for us painters. Laura and her staff even went the extra mile and did their best to accommodate the food intolerances that I and some others in the group had. On the two rainy afternoons we had we used a large, light and airy studio space next to Laura's office. Laura really couldn't do anything more for us. Theres a communal kitchen stocked with drinks, pastas and sauces if you don't want to drive in to Greve (or wish pretend that all this is yours and you want to cook your own supper). If you ask very nicely and ask in advance Laura may be able to organise a home cooked meal based on local, traditional cuisine which are so delicious that your waist band may feel a bit snug by the time you leave. The breakfasts are lovely too. You help your self to cold meats, cheeses, cereal, yoghurt, breads, jams, fresh fruits and the best selection of cakes I've ever seen on a breakfast buffet! Yes! Cakes for breakfast!! Says it all really!!! Yes there is s dirt track road to drive up but its not a bad road and you don't get this level of tranquility in a village. The mosquitos were a bit nippy but I think they worse in other areas of this region of Italy judging by the number of people with purple welts on their legs at Pisa airport. It made our bites look rather half hearted and nothing that a dab of toothpaste couldn't fix! It's a rural property which Laura runs as ecco friendly as possible. Bites are inevitable anywhere rural (Im thinking Scottish midgie?!). I'm even loath to mention them as they are not the abiding memory of my stay here. My memory is of the lovely, smilling, welcoming Laura and her staff who made a group of quirky artists feel that they belonged in Tuscany. Oh and they have cake for breakfast."

"Lara is THE BEST! - If you're looking for peace, tranquility and amazing hospitality, look no further than this divine space tucked within the Tuscan hills. Lara is the hostess and inn-keeper who aims to delight guests in every possible way. The rooms are modest and very clean. I recommend settling in for sunset on the hill with a bottle of wine! Will definitely stay here again!"
