"Beautiful Italian Stone Villa - We had a fantastic time at Ancora del Chianti in Tuscany! Laura and her family welcomed us like we were part of their Italian family! The food was incredible. The views from this hill top setting are stunning! We spent a wonderful day in Florence which was less than an hour away."

"Charming B&B in Chianti - This was a very lucky find for my family, when we drove across Tuscany last year. A very charming secluded setting access via a gravelly single track road, to a wonderful country house with a number of outbuidings. We stayed in two interconnecting rooms, each with a bathroom. The rooms were well appointed that allowed us all to have very restful nights. The bathrooms are stocked with the best local Olive products.(Make sure that you buy some form the hostess before you leave, otherwise like us you will regret that you didn't.A basic breakfast with good coffee is served outdoors on the terrace. There is also communal kitchen and lounge which is very well stocked with local pasta, beer and wine as well as soft drinks. Payment is via an honesty sheet.Among the grounds is a very well appointed newly converted studio, which can be used by arrangement for a wide variety of activities, such as Yoga and dance. There is no pool or air con in the rooms, but rooms were cool enough with the thick stone walls and we did not miss having a pool for a few days. This really is a wonderful place to stay which is owned and run by a very lovely family. We would not hesitate to stay here again and again.Thank you"

"Somewhere You Will Never Forget...! - Before I start gushing about the very many merits of staying here, and this place WILL work its magic on you, let me mention the elephant in the room that is The Track. (Try not to arrive here for the first time in the dark!) The very long, unmade gravel track came as a bit of a shock to the driver, who, being very English, was more used to little luxuries in life, such as, let's say, a tarmac road! Still, by the time our stay was over, it no longer took him 15 minutes to drive up it, (he was becoming far more of a local).... and his worries were completely unfounded when he returned the formerly brand new immaculate hire car to the airport absolutely caked in dust and mud! The locals are used to it apparently! I guess what do you expect if you are staying on top of a mountain...!!! (and the views are absolutely glorious, particularly the rows and rows of vines which were dripping in succulent ripe grapes when we were there). The rooms are all immaculately clean with very comfy beds and bed linen. The staff are all very warm and friendly. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious... a large buffet selection (I loved the choice of cold meats and cheeses) and every day the lovely Alessandro baked another sensational cake The only drawback was that the weather was starting to get a bit chilly when we were there, and the breakfasts were still being served outside. That must be wonderful in the summer, but again we English are not used to having to eat breakfast with our coats on! It was fun meeting the other guests at breakfast time. The place had a bit of a cheery commune feel. It is all presided over by the exuberant Laura, who does her very best to make everyone feel welcome and special... she speaks five languages, all extremely well! You cannot fault the welcome you get here. I can guarantee you will never forget your stay here!"
