Vineyard and olive groves at Ancora del Chianti

“Serenity in a beautiful little location”
We stayed here in July 2010 but better late than never in writing a well deserved review for this lovely relaxing place. We stayed here for 3 nights and upon arrival we found our room with a personalized note by the door, which just added that extra touch of feeling welcome. This was consistent throughout our stay. The hosts were very friendly and Laura was very forthcoming and chatted with all the guests and gave her tips about which places to visit in the area. I must say that the recommendations payed off as we found the cutest little wineries, restaurants and visited towns that are off the beaten track. Ancora del Chianti was indeed a little paradise, as another review suggested, and for us it meant relaxation in hammocks, beautiful green surroundings, delicious breakfast, lovely local wine that you could purchase as well as cakes…it was ideal and I would definitely stay there again. It was lovely to just sink into a hammock with a good book and hide in the shade during the hottest part of the day and then travel onwards to cute little towns in the nearby vicinity. Thank you for a great experience. 🙂

Thanks to Malcom by Azienda Agricola Sagrona for the beautiful picture.

Ancora del Chianti as “The Enchanted Castle”

Emanuela's Letter

Thank you to Emanuela and Koloyan for the lovely message we was found in the room when they left Ancora del Chianti. The words are so warm, fresh and full of entusiasm that I couldn’t help to place it in the blooming roses for a picture!

“Dear Laura, Laura’s Family and Ingrid,
we have been lost in Greve like in some distance heaven. Thank you for your warm welcome! As we think for Ancora del Chianti, it sounds like “The Enchanted Castle”. Yes, it is! Please, keep this magic so that we could find and taste it again next time! Remember if sometimes in the future you feel tickle, this means that we are thinking about you and the beautiful spirit in Chianti! Hope you’ll be happy and all the nice people find the path to Ancora del Chianti!!! As a famous singer says: “24.00 baci” from us! Emanuela and Kaloyan”

“A little taste of Paradise”
When first taking the little dirt road in the middle of wine yards and olive trees we were really asking ourselves where we would end up… I must admit we were initially quite skeptical but when once we reached the B&B it was definitely worth it. The view is breath taking with a magnificent view over the Tuscan hills and castles. During our drive it was cloudy but as we arrived the sun came out and we got enjoy a first glass of wine with some olives in the beautiful garden after having received a warm welcome by Laura and gotten a little tour of the premises (and smelling the roses, woaw!).
The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable – maybe just a little cold in the evening but I guess that’s due to the temperatures being a little bit lower than normal during our stay (and that was easily fixed with an extra blanket). The breakfast choice was enough with ham, cheese and yoghurts (we ate so much at lunch and dinner that we couldn’t have managed to have a bigger breakfast anyway!) – and thanks to Ingrid for her yummy morning cakes!
This is definitely a place to recommend for those wanting to enjoy nature and yet being close to many things to see and visit. Of course, if you come here in the middle of the summer, you might miss not having a swimming pool but for us, that didn’t matter. We are hoping that we will have the opportunity to come back soon!”

Iceberg Rose at Ancora del Chianti

On 13rd of May we received a Trip Advisor Review Alert from a mysterious dk12345678 from Budapest – Hungary who stayed at Ancora del Chianti beginning of the month. We actually have an idea who it was …but we want to keep the secret and we thank a lot!!

From Tripadvisor.Com : “Real tuscan country feeling, nice surroundings, freedom to do what you feel like”
We have stayed in may 2012 in this former fattoria, with very nice surroundings and quiet countryside. Close to major tuscan sites to visit, and free to do what yo felt like, without very suggested ways of spending time. Nice house, very nicely renovated. it is a great house to spend quality time at. There is no swimming pool, so those looking for that … this is not your choice. But for wondering around Tuscany is great:) and a great host:)

Michael and Veronique were our first guests staying 1 week at Ancora del Chianti in 2012. They come from Belgium and speak/write Italian. This is what we found in the room when they left.

Arrivederci,
Michael e Veronique”
