"Peaceful, Inviting, Rea Tuscany"Laura is the star here at this lovely agriturismo. She is sharp and cheerful and most informative. We stayed 5 nights with my sister and her hubby and we all loved this place. We had the two (large) rooms on the corner and were able to park right next to our rooms! A nice plus after a busy, tiring day of touristing. It is up a dusty road, but that's great..you are away from the hubub. We went into (Greve) town and took the VERY convenient (frequent) bus to Florence. Brilliant! Pkg is free and very reasonable. Takes you to the center of town. Laura will tell you how. Beautiful grounds, can't say enough about the view of the Tuscan Hills. We had the (separate) kitchen at our disposal, so long as no one else was using it. Everything you need is there. There is home bottled wine, but we liked other wine better. Matter of taste. Laura booked the wine tour for us. Breakfast was excellent with a homemade cake every morning. Ingrid took care of our brkfst service and tidies up our rooms each day. She is a sweetheart, and works hard. Remember her before you leave by showing your appreciation. Rooms were large, comfy yet firm beds. Shower/bathroom is very nice. The only (maybe) drawback was the wifi, you could only get it (and not all the time) out on the patio. No wifi in our rooms. But, hopefully, like us, you only need it to check your email once a day. So this could be a non-issue if you do not care--you are in Tuscany for rest and relaxation, after all! We just had to check with our sick family member back home every day/night. The love and appreciation for this community and terroir is palpable. It draws you in like a warm embrace. You will leave wanting more. We will be back if in the area again. Thank you for a most memorable stay.

Wait till you meet Laura and her staff, they could not have been any more helpful. Breakfast was self serve with cereals, fruit, cold meats and cheese along with freshly baked cakes done daily. This is an ideal location to stay while visiting Florence and Tuscany. The location allows for fast access to the major highway ( although a dirt road ) to Greve where we took the public bus ( recommended ) to the city center ( Florence ) daily. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and cleaned daily. Their are several excellent restaurants near by and the drive to Sienna very picturesque. We would not hesitate returning.

We spent two nights at Ancora del Chianti and wished we could have stayed longer. It is strategically located close to Florence and other scenic places while still situated out in the country. The room was comfortable with its own front lawn and beautiful rustic garden. The breakfast was very good and the provision of a little kitchen for is handy for people wishing to stay and enjoy the tranquility of the farm. Best of all is Laura's artistic touches and her warm, welcoming personality that made our stay memorable. We hope to go back some day.

We stayed 2 weeks and it was great! Ancora is a beautiful rustic house on top of a hill. A truly unique place under the Tuscan sun. It was a pleasure to drive up and come 'home' everyday after visiting the medieval villages on route SS222 (the most beautiful route trough the Chianti). Staying this long in one place gave us the chance to occasionally have a lazy day, read a book in one of the many easy chairs in the garden or in the vineyards, under the olive trees of Ancora, enjoying the views to all corners of the Chianti. (Very central located to all Tuscan highlights!) The owners, Laura and Filippo; where to begin… Warm, helpful, prepared to give you the service you sometimes need in a foreign environment. Every morning at breakfast overlooking the charming garden Laura or Sabina shared many priceless tips only a local resident can give you. Where to go, what to do or see. If you like to be independent? No problem, they will never impose! Thank you Ingrid for keeping our room tidy and baking a cake for the guest everyday! Thank you Laura for everything, for giving us 'a home, away from home' for de past 2 weeks. We never met a better more giving and warm host! Philip and Annette - Rotterdam Holland

Came back from Tuscany a week ago already, and I keep trying to fade it all in order to remember objectively...there's no way, trust me...Once the sun kissed you, gentle on the hills, once your lips touched the taste of velvet wine, once you took the moon with you, late in the night, between the olive trees, you will leave your heart there...and with every second you will remember so precisely why you have to come back...This is the place where my soul can rest, where time has a totally different way for flowing, love is sweeter and life richer...Hope to see you soon enough! Tks Laura and Filippo!

“Excellent stay to enjoy the awesome countryside” I stayd at the Ancora del Chianti Bed and Breakfast for 3 nights and i loved it. The owners are very nice and even took me and some friends to a local celebration (festa del cinghiale). The location is perfect for people who want to discover the Chianti area as it is situated on one of the many hills with a great view over the region. The rooms are clean and spacious and there are common areas with books, beer, vine and so on.

“Rustic, Comfortable, Delightful” Our family of 11 ranged from 10 - 80 years old. We all stayed in the 5 rooms in the converted barn, which was quite spacious and clean. The rooms and property are very well-maintained. Everyone was delighted with the B&B, the surrounding hillside scenery, central location, and, specially our beautiful and vibrant host, Laura. Anchora del Chianti was full of simple little touches that made our stay that much more memorable, something you would expect from a close friend. The other reviews are spot on; re-reading them puts smiles on our faces as we walk down memory lane. Bravo, Laura and Filippo!!!!

“Wonderful memories”We spent a wonderful week here in early April with 7 other members of our family. Ancora del Chianti is an exceptional place to stay: from the large communal kitchen and sitting area; to our very clean, individual rooms, full of character with the smallest of details looked after; to the lovely setting where we could relax, visit and eat outdoors in a variety of areas; we’ll look back on the good memories of our stay for a long time. Laura is cheerfully enthusiastic. She is also very knowledgeable about the area. After a couple of day trips we quickly learned to trust the advice that she so generously shares. Laura’s kindness and careful attention to the smallest of details went well beyond our expectations. Our group particularly enjoyed the cooking class and delicious Italian meal that Laura arranged for us. The breakfasts were also fantastic - imagine a different cake every morning! If you’re looking for a terrific rural retreat or a base from which to visit the many nearby towns and interesting sites, we couldn’t recommend Ancora del Chianti more highly.

“Eco-friendly B&B in Tuscany” I had the pleasure to spend a couple of nights at this hidden gem in the Tuscan country side, in the middle of the Chianti Classico region. The estate is quietly located which allows for complete relax while enjoying the views, the olive trees and the vine yard (btw: this wine is delicious and fully biologic, ask Filippo for a sip). The rooms are comfortable and furnished with utmost personal care. The breakfast is rich (try the cake, which is freshly home-made every day). Next to this, it is a good occasion to socialize with other guests and ask Laura, the hospitable owner, for tips what to visit in this splendid region (which is important, given the long list of AAA tourist attractions in the region).

“More than a Bed & Breakfast” Staying with Laura was lovely. She was more than just a B&B host, she helped us plan a lovely holiday and was great company along the way. We loved our cakes for breakfast every morning, not to mention delicious coffees and teas! Laura gave us many recommendations around the area on what to see and do, and where to eat. She also set us up with a lovely olive oil tasting and personal wine tour at a nearby vineyard. We felt like we had the VIP treatment very early in the season before masses of tourists descended upon Tuscany. One thing to note: you definitely need a car to make it up the hill to Ancora del Chianti- it's a rocky dirt road, which is perfect for getting out of the hustle and bustle of nearby villages, but can be a bit surprising when you arrive at night!
